ALESHA MacPhail watched Peppa Pig on her final day before she was brutally murdered by a paedophile teenager.
The schoolgirl, six, was enjoying a three-week summer break with her family, on the isle of Bute, when her life was cut tragically short.
On her last day she was taken to a party on the mainland and played in a park before coming home and watching her favourite Peppa cartoons, the BBC reports.
Full of mischief and fun, the youngster had played-up on the 50-mile trip back from Airdrie, her hometown.
She hit her granddad, Callum MacPhail, with a balloon and then chased it along a beach until it burst.
But later that night, all was forgiven when she ran into his room, jumped on the bed, and gave him a big hug while saying “goodnight grandpa”.
FELL ASLEEP WATCHING PEPPA
Alesha fell asleep watching her favourite cartoons with her dad Robert’s girlfriend Toni going into her room to turn off her TV just after 11pm.
Toni told the court: “She was sleeping and her face was facing the wall and her hair was behind her on the pillow.”
Tragically these typical childhood moments would be the last cherished memories the MacPhail family had of their “smiley wee angel”.
The next time her bedroom door would be opened – Alesha’s 16-year-old killer would be on the other side.
HORRIFIC MURDER
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was convicted of her murder and rape today at the High Court in Glasgow.
The depraved teen abducted the youngster at knife-point from her grandparents’ home before carrying her half a mile to a woodland clearing – where she was raped and smothered to death.
He callously tried pinning the brutal murder on Toni McLachlan – the girlfriend of Alesha’s dad Robert.
Words cannot express just how devastated I am to have lost my beautiful, happy, smiley wee girl.

The warped killer fed jurors a “pack of lies” during his trial – including that Toni had framed him by “planting” his DNA on the youngster using a condom discarded after they apparently had sex.
But the panel saw through him and the teen was found guilty after just four hours.
He remained emotionless in the dock as the jury read out the verdict.
In an emotional tribute, Alesha’s mum Georgina described the youngster as her “wee pal”.

“I am glad that the boy who did this has finally been brought to justice and that he will not be able to inflict the pain on another family that he has done to mine.
