FERNANDO FORESTIERI is not exactly having a Merry Christmas after an arrest warrant was put out in his name on December 28.
The Sheffield Wednesday striker failed to appear in court on the same date and is now considered to be at large.
Who is Fernando Forestieri?
Fernando Forestieri was born in Rosario, Argentina on January 15, 1990 – the same city as Lionel Messi.
Like the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Forestieri grew up supporting local side Newell’s Old Boys.
He is of Italian descent and played for Italy at every age group between Under-17 and Under-21.
In 2006 his parents left Argentina and he departed the Boca Juniors academy for Italian side Siena, before switching to Genoa the same year, making one appearance for each club.
Forestieri’s move to Udinese in 2009 kickstarted his career as it proved the catalyst for a loan move to Watford in 2012, which turned permanent in 2013.
In 2015, the Argentine helped the Hornets to the Premier League but was sold to Sheffield Wednesday the same summer for an undisclosed fee considered to be around £3m.

A popular figure at both Watford and Sheffield Wednesday, Forestieri helped the Owls to a play-off final in 2016 and a semi-final in 2017, although missed the decisive penalty in a shootout against Huddersfield in the latter year.
In 2016, Forestieri married girlfriend Andria Evangelou and the couple have one son together called Santi, who was born in April 2017.

Fernando Forestieri was due to appear in Mansfield Crown Court after being charged with using threatening words and behaviour, and racially aggravated harassment.
The alleged incident occurred during a brawl which followed a pre-season friendly at Mansfield Town, with the Stags later making a police complaint.
The warrant without bail was issued after the Argentine failed to attend his hearing.
