THE curse of Strictly has been blamed for leaving a trail of broken hearts – but that hasn’t put off Shirley Ballas.
Ahead of the final, the twice-married head judge declares she is still searching for Mr Right.
Shirley, 57, declares: “I shall wave my wand and cast my spell. That Strictly curse hasn’t hit me yet. Hello, anyone out there? I’m single.
“If you recommend someone that’s nice, or one of my close friends, I’d absolutely be happy to go on a scone date with a nice cup of coffee.”
The Liverpudlian ballroom queen longs to end a romantic barren patch after admitting to just one date in three years.
Today she unmasks his identity — Pop Stars The Rival’s “Nasty” Nigel Lythgoe.
She says: “About three years ago I had a coffee date and dinner date with Nigel Lythgoe.
“He’s a good friend of mine ’cause we both come from Wallasey. I’m a big fan of his and admire his work. Charming man, very charming.”
He is not the only Nigel in Shirley’s life. This week she posted a photo on Instagram of her first fiance, Nigel Tiffany, visiting the Strictly set. They were engaged at 16 and have remained close friends.
She says: “He’s been that staunch, loyal friend. He has been there all my life, from 14, as a dear friend and as a person who takes care of my finances.”
Shirley, who plays Mother Nature in Jack And The Beanstalk at the Liverpool Empire after Strictly, is also on great terms with both of her ex husbands, Sammy Stopford and Corky Ballas.
She adds: “I wouldn’t change one single moment of being with any of them. I learned a lot, became super successful.”

So would she consider walking up the aisle again? She says: “Yes, if I met the right person.”
She urges the finalists to toughen up, adding: “We’re looking for the strength in people.
“There’s no crying, no tears, no ‘I feel sorry for me’. Just, ‘Let’s get on with it and do the best we can for the British public’.”
