MAURICIO POCHETTINO gave his wife the perfect anniversary gift as his Tottenham stars piled on the trouble and strife for Everton.
This Toffee thrashing showed just why Manchester United are so desperate to make a proposal to White Hart Lane chief Poch about taking over.
Victory meant Spurs closed the gap to Manchester City in second to two points.
And Poch said: “The numbers two and six are very special today. It’s my present for my wife, we got married 26 years ago.
“And this is a fantastic way to celebrate tonight.”
Theo Walcott put Everton ahead and Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a header controversially ruled out.

But strikes from Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and Harry Kane put Spurs in command at the break.
Christian Eriksen made it 4-1 with a 25-yard stunner before ex-Spurs star Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back. But Son and Kane added goals to make it a very happy day for their sought-after gaffer.
Pochettino said: “I’m so pleased, so happy. We came from a really tough game against Arsenal and today we were so fresh.
“We played very good football. It was fantastic. When you play that way, you must be very proud.”
Tottenham are just six points behind leaders Liverpool in the title race on a weekend fourth-placed Chelsea slipped up.
Kane said: “Everyone is talking about Liverpool and Manchester City and we’re just doing well like we normally do. There is a long way to go.”
One blot on Spurs’ day was Dele going off.
SunSport’s Alan Shearer reckons Everton No 1 Jordan Pickford was lucky not to see red for a ‘disgusting’ challenge on Dele, which forced his England pal off at half-time.
Shearer tweeted: “Disgusting challenge by @JPickford1 on @dele_ official. Should have been a red card.”
Pochettino said: “Dele is tired and it is a tight hamstring but we hope it is not a big issue.”
Everton gaffer Marco Silva said: “We feel really bad, as we should.
“We kept making mistakes — and you can’t do that against a team like Tottenham. They played much faster.”
