Theresa May was full of Christmas cheer today as she spent time this afternoon visiting those alone during the festive period having earlier handed a playful Border Collie a present while attending church.
Sporting a bright red coat, she was joined by husband Philip as they arrived at St Andrews Parish Church in Sonning, Berkshire where Mrs May is a regular worshipper.
Fortunately for the Collie, the PM was brandishing a dog toy and offered it up to the eager pooch who she has previously been pictured playing fetch with.

Blitz and his owner were already at the church in the Berkshire riverside village when Mrs May arrived. The dog instantly recognised the PM who she has admitted to being a fan of and who she sees regularly on her Sunday morning church visits.
The PM leaned forward and gave Blitz the toy which she had wrapped up specially for the expected reunion. She then walked into church for the annual Christmas morning service.
Later this afternoon she took time out to visit a festive lunch arranged for people who are alone during the festive period.
She was seen laughing and joking with several people at the event, which was also held in her Maidenhead constituency - at SportsAble, a sports disability centre.
Mrs May will be enjoying a brief moment of political respite during the Christmas period, with MPs set to vote on her Brexit deal next month.
She is expected to pull out all the stops over the next few weeks to try to win support for her plan.
And has invited all Tory MPs and their spouses to a party in Downing Street in the new year, a week before the crunch vote.

Blitz the Border Collie and the PM have grown fond of one another following their regular meet-ups outside church. Mrs May has become so attached, she even brought the pooch a present on Christmas Day
Mrs May also gave a short speech at the event in Maidenhead - which was hosted by SportsAble, a disability sports club
The deal is currently being opposed as MPs fear the Irish backstop could trap Britain in the EUs custom union.
The backstop effectively keeps the UK in a customs union with the EU and Northern Ireland in both the customs union and single market.
This means many EU laws will keep being imposed on the UK and there can be no new trade deals. It also means regulatory checks on some goods crossing the Irish Sea.
As it stands Northern Irish MPs won't accept the plan as it would put checks on some goods travelling between Britain and Northern Ireland.
News of the party came as the Justice Secretary, David Gauke said Mrs May is unlikely to pursue a no deal Brexit if her deal fails.
He sparked fresh Tory infighting by saying he would be 'very surprised if the Prime Minister went down that route'.
He also stood firm with his threat to quit if a no deal became the Government's number one Brexit policy – saying he would find it 'very difficult' to stay.
