PAUL POGBA has ditched plans to quit Manchester United after Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
The £89million club record buy had been looking at the chance of a loan move in the January transfer window to get him out of Old Trafford.
If that failed he had instructed his agent that he had to find him a new club in the summer if Mourinho was still boss.
The Frenchman had been dropped for the last three league games and not even brought on at Anfield on Sunday as the Red Devils suffered at the hands of their bitterest rivals.
It was the final straw for Pogba who was barely on speaking terms with the boss since the summer.
The pair constantly clashed over Mourinho’s style of play.
Pogba also felt he was being made the scapegoat for everything that was going wrong.
Mourinho in turn referred to Pogba as a ‘virus’ affecting the other players after the 2-2 draw at Southampton on December 1.
Pogba, 25, had left United for Juventus in 2012 over a contract dispute between his agent and Sir Alex Ferguson.
He was a success in Italy winning four Serie A’s.
He felt like he was coming home when Mourinho tempted him back to Old Trafford and he finished his first season scoring in the 2-0 Europa League Final win over Ajax.
But cracks in the relationship between manager and player started to appear in January of this year.

He hauled him off in the away defeat to Spurs when he failed to follow his instructions, dropped him for the following game against Huddersfield and then subbed him again during the away defeat to Newcastle.
After his World Cup winning exploits for France, Pogba was upset after Mourinho said it was time he started playing like that for United.
Then after he captained United to victory in the opening game of this season against Leicester Pogba hinted at the fractured relationship with Mourinho when he said: “There are things, and there are things that I cannot say, otherwise I will get fined,”
By the following month Mourinho said Pogba would never captain the club again.
Things never picked up, they only got worse to the point where the player was looking elsewhere, but not now Mourinho has gone.
