Based on Caroline Kepnes' bestselling novel, the series has already been renewed for a second season.
While talking with GMA's Paula Faris, Penn talked preparation tactics for his dark and twisted character.
'I listen to Michael Jackson and Prince to prepare for any and everything,' he said. 'But I think some of our greatest pop songs are talking about a love that is maniacal and kind of obsessed.'
Badgley stars alongside John Stamos, Elizabeth Lail, and Shay Mitchell in the upcoming crime-drama episodic.
'Penn is a goof on set. We have a lot of fun,' Mitchell told ET in an interview as she reflected on their time shooting in NYC.
