ERIC BAILLY paid tribute to former manager Jose Mourinho in a heartfelt Twitter post today.
The Manchester United defender, 24, appeared to have a fractured relationship with the sacked boss, especially this season.
But the Ivorian thanked The Special One for giving him his Premier League break.
He tweeted: “Whatever they may say, I will always be thankful to the person who gave me the chance to make my debut at Old Trafford.
“Thank you for what you have taught me. Good luck, coach.”
Bailly was Mourinho’s first signing at Manchester United in the summer of 2016, bringing the defender in for £30million from LaLiga side Valencia.

But the Portuguese manager seemed to fall out with the centre-back in recent months following his poor performance at Brighton early in the season.
Bailly played just 21 minutes of Premier League football between August 20 and December 4 but did play the full 90 in the recent games against Arsenal, Valencia and Liverpool – none of which United won.
It is stark contrast to the beginning of his Manchester United career when he was named man of the match in the Community Shield win over Leicester and in his Premier League debut against Bournemouth then received the club’s player of the month award.
Bailly was the second United player to show their public support for Mourinho after Jesse Lingard posted a thank-you message on Instagram.
It ended the 32-hour silence from the Red Devils squad since the announcement of Mourinho’s dismissal yesterday morning.
Lingard said: “Thank you for the wisdom.”
New boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer checked in at the Lowry Hotel this evening as he gets preparations underway to face his former side Cardiff on Saturday.
