KAKA was once the most expensive player in the world, a legend at AC Milan and destined to be a Real Madrid star.
However, under manager Jose Mourinho, it didn’t quite pan out that way as the Brazilian failed to reach the heights he once set in Italy.
Real paid a world record £56million fee to bring Kaka from Northern Italy to the Spanish capital – though just one month later Cristiano Ronaldo’s £80m move to the Santiago Bernabeu made him the world most expensive player.
Despite winning a Ballon d’Or and Champions League with Milan, Kaka couldn’t break into the Real squad following an injury-plagued first season.
Upon his return to regular fitness the next season, Mourinho had brought in future World Cup winner Mesut Ozil, and Kaka would never see regular football under The Special One.
Kaka told Grande Circulo de SporTV: “I was out of action for six months and when I returned, it was Mourinho.

Mourinho would spend just three seasons in Madrid, as he won both the La Liga title and Copa Del Rey.
After Mourinho found himself back at Chelsea, Kaka would go on to return to Milan before ending his career in MLS with Orlando City.
Despite not becoming a regular feature in Mourinho’s Real team, Kaka insisted the pair are on good terms, even sharing a hotel room in Manchester on one occasion.
Kaka added: “There’s no problem, I went to Manchester to a sponsor’s event, I stayed at the same hotel as him and we stayed talking for two hours.”
