New photo Just ONE pig in blanket and a mouthful of Christmas pudding – how your festive dinner would look under health bosses’ guidelines

THE Government’s recommended Christmas dinner calorie allowance is laid bare today – and yule be likely to be over the limit by the end of the day.

Grinch guidelines from Public Health England allows only 6g of salt, 30g of sugar and 30g of saturated fats with men consuming not more than 2,500 cals a day, and women 2,000.

This is the sort of meal health bosses would like to see us eating on Christmas day

That means half empty glasses with only 29ml of red wine or 27.5ml of gin and tonic allowed.

The nutritional limit would only allow for a man 125g of turkey, one pig in a blanket, 1.25g of bread sauce, 1,8g of cranberry sauce.

For veg only 128g of roast potatoes are permitted along with 50g of brussel sprouts and parsnips and 25g of carrots.

Dessert would involve 3g of Christmas pudding in a single gram puddle of brandy cream and a single quarter of a Celebrations mini chocolate.

The average person splurges more than 5,000 calories on their Christmas blowout.

John O’Connell of the TaxPayers’ Alliance last night branded the guidelines “overbearing”.

He said: “If they had it their way, we would be eating nothing but salad and Brussels sprouts this Christmas, with a meagre sliver of a mince pie for pudding.”

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
