New photo Four Weddings and a Funeral sequel: Hugh Grant and Lily James film

News of a short film sequel to rom-com classic Four Weddings And A Funeral has sent fans into overdrive.

And as filming gets underway for the Red Nose Day special, set to air in March 2019, new pictures have been released of the cast on set in North London, with Hugh Grant reprising his role as Charles from the original, but this time as a nervous father watching his daughter get hitched.

The actor, 58, was seen for the first time shooting alongside Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again star Lily James, 29, who plays his daughter and was clad in a stunning lace bridal gown.

Four Weddings And A... Wedding! Hugh Grant is the nervous father of the bride as he was pictured with onscreen daughter Lily James for the first time on Friday as filming for movie's Red Nose Day sequel gets underway

The One Red Nose and a Wedding special sees Charles (Grant) take centre stage as he joins his daughter (James) at the church on her wedding day.

Dressed for the occasion Hugh was smartly dressed in a checked suit and striped tie, sporting a floral buttonhole and a pair of specs.

He was seen linking the arm of his onscreen daughter as they made their way down the aisle together, with a giant floral headpiece pinned in the back of Lily's hair.

Later on, Lily dashed out of the church wearing a full length padded jacket and non-bridal brown leather boots, pulling a hood up over her head.

Andie MacDowall, who is presumably Lily's onscreen mother, Carrie, in the reboot was seen on set for a second time and certainly appeared to be the mother of the bride, wearing a stunning purple gown with a matching headpiece.

Freezing in the cold climate, she joined her castmates in wearing an oversized coat as she left the church, clutching a Thermos flask.

John Hannah is also back as Matthew and could be seen cradling a pet dog as he made his way out of the church alongside director Richard Curtis.

The iconic filmmaker could be seen speaking to individual actors as he worked his magic on set, clutching a hot coffee in order to keep warm.

At one point, he was caught up in conversation with actress Emerald Fennell, who did not star in the original but has appeared in Call The Midwife and Killing Eve.

No Four Weddings and a Funeral reunion would be complete without Duckface. We wonder whether she ever got her happily ever after...?

Actress Anna Chancellor is pictured here filming scenes for the Red Nose Day sequel as her alter ego Henrietta, and she just so happens to be wearing the perfect dress for a guest going to a winter wedding. Sound familiar? Read on!

It's by Roksanda, and features a high neck, abstract print and a colour block pleated design on the skirt, which is more in line with the signature style of the brand. We love the voluminous long sleeves and sophisticated length. All it needs is swept-up hair and a headpiece and you're good to go!

Emerald, who was wearing a bright floral dress and a hot pink fascinator, is thought to be the child of much-loved characters Bernard and Lydia.

Kristen Scott Thomas' returned as Fiona and pulled a serious of expressions as she posed in her all-black regalia and oversized hat, which may have been way more suited to a funeral.

Her nemesis, Henrietta, played by Anna Chancellor wore a similar headpiece - she was famously dubbed 'Duckface' by Fiona in the movie.

As filming began shooting for the short film sequel for Red Nose Day, the cast have sent fans wild while littering social media with a slew of behind-the-scenes snaps.

Emma Freud, the partner of the film's writer Richard, live tweeted the first day of shooting on Thursday to the delight of fans, as she shared snaps of the original 1994 cast and some surprise cameos.

Among the photos was another shot of Andie, who played Hugh's love interest, Carrie - but whether she remains with Charles in the reboot is not being revealed just yet.

There appeared to be a glimpse of leading man Hugh sharing a kiss with a mystery woman, after his character Charles finally got together with Carrie at the end of the original movie 25 years ago.

Fans were quick to speculate a bespectacled man in a crowd shot shared by Emma was Hugh, as she teasingly captioned the image: 'Quite an interesting kiss going on behind this lightbulb'.

The first day of shooting featured a wedding set up in a marquee, with all the original cast in attendance.

Emma shared a photo of actress Anna with the caption 'Still looks like a duck,' in reference to her character Henrietta's nickname from Kristen Scott Thomas' Fiona, who calls the woman Charles leaves at the alter: 'Duckface'.

The new short film will air during Red Nose Day in 2019, following on from the huge success of the Love Actually reboot last year.

Red Nose Day co-creator Richard wrote the original film, and has written the new short, while original director Mike Newel also returns for the sequel, which will pick up 25 years after the original film.

The short film follows on from the huge success of Red Nose Day Actually, a follow up to Love Actually that premiered during Red Nose Day's 2017 edition.

Richard said of the reunion: ' We're all definitely older – I suspect no wiser. It's been really enjoyable working out what's happened to all the characters - and now they get back together for the 5th wedding. Where, as usual, not everything will go as planned.'

The original film ended with Hugh's Charles finally getting together with Carrie, played by Andie, after calling of his wedding to Henrietta/Duck Face (Anna Chancellor).

There will be a notable absence from the cast though as sadly Charlotte Coleman who played Charles' sister Scarlett died in 2001.

Simon Callow will also be skipping out on an appearance as his character Gareth famously dies during the original film.

Four Weddings and a Funeral was made in just six weeks and cost under £3 million, but became the highest-grossing British film in history at the time, with worldwide box office takings in excess of $245.7 million.

The film was also nominated for the Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay Oscars and picked up multiple Golden Globes and BAFTAs.

It also launched the international career of leading man Hugh, and his huge success as a romantic comedy icon.

His fame also soared thanks to the premiere of Four Weddings, which saw his then unknown girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley wow in the now iconic Versace safety-pin dress.

Andie meanwhile achieved her first major box office success with the movie, along with her other early nineties hit Groundhog Day.
