A fisherman had a miraculous escape after falling overboard and grabbing on to his fishing nets - as his boat dragged him five miles through the freezing sea to shore.
The incident happened on Thursday lunchtime as the fisherman - named locally as Nathan Rogers - was re-positioning his nets off the Cornish coast.
His boat was on automatic pilot heading for Newlyn port with him in the freezing sea, said the crew from the Penlee lifeboat who raced to his aid.

The alarm was raised by an 11 year old boy on a beach who told his parents what he had seen as the boat headed into Newlyn.
The lad's father contacted coastguards and the lifeboat rescued the man after the vessel struck the South Pier.
The lifeboat crew found the fishing boat's engine still in gear and the lone fisherman was struggling in the chilly waters about 30 yards from the vessel.
He was taken to hospital but was yesterday back at home 'safe and well' and recovering from the ordeal.
The coxswain of the Penlee lifeboat, Patch Harvey, said: 'I would like to praise the actions of 11 year old Louis-Matisse who was on the beach at Sandy Cove.
'He saw that there was someone struggling in the water and told his dad who immediately called 999 and reported the incident to the coastguards.'

Mr Harvey - who has been a fisherman and lifeboatman for more than 20 years - said he'd never seen anything quite like it in all his time at Penlee lifeboat.
He said: 'He was so lucky. At first we didn't know he'd been hanging on for that long - we just thought he fell overboard when his boat hit the pier.
'When we found out we were amazed at how he'd managed to hold on for so long.
'He was very, very cold and was kept in the ambulance in Newlyn for about an hour. Afterwards he was taken to hospital but later was back home - it ended ok.'
Describing the events that led up to the fisherman in the water, Mr Harvey said: 'He'd been putting out his nets with his boat on autopilot when he fell in.
'He managed to cling on to some hydraulic hoses which were connected to his boat which remained intact all the way in.
'If they had snapped he wouldn't be here now. So it's amazing he held on for so long and those hoses didn't break all the way in.
'If the boat had been going in any other direction nobody would have known.
'The horrible thing is that while we were towing the other boat we actually passed his boat not knowing he was over the side being dragged in.
'His boat was doing five or six knots and it took strength to hold on. He's not young but he's an experienced fisherman - he's well known and very popular.
'We're all chuffed that he's alright. He was lucky the boat hit the pier so close to the harbour when he needed to be pulled out.
'He could have gone in anywhere along the coast and nobody would have seen him. It was flat calm too - if it had been rough he wouldn't have been able to hang on.'

Patch also praised the skipper of a boat called Dream Catcher who went to the aid of the fisherman - and had also helped out at an earlier second incident in near perfect conditions.
That skipper also alerted the lifeboat to the fact that the local fishing vessel had steamed into South Pier and there was a person in difficulties in the water.
The Penlee lifeboat station said: 'On arrival the volunteer crew found that a vessel had collided with the South Pier, its engine was still in gear, and the lone fisherman who had been onboardm was struggling in the water about 30 yards from his vessel.
'He was being held up and prevented from drowning by the skipper of the Dream Catcher.'
Lifeboatman Dan Sell put on a dry suit and jumped into the sea to help the stricken fisherman - a man in his 40s.
The crew said: 'He was lifted from the water using the davit and strops. It was immediately clear the casualty was suffering from severe hypothermia. He was taken inside the lifeboat, stripped of his wet clothing, wrapped in blankets, and his feet were elevated.'
The all weather lifeboat crew then returned to sea to pick up a vessel that they had been towing in to port after the crabber, the Prospector, which had picked up a trawl in its propeller about a mile off Lamorna Cove.
