ENGLAND boss Gareth Southgate has been voted the Coach of the Year at the Sports Personality of the Year awards.

The 48-year-old guided the Three Lions to their first World Cup semi-final since 1990.

Southgate unified people from all over the country to support the nation by inspiring England’s stunning run in Russia.

Skipper Harry Kane and Co stormed to the semi-finals – beating Colombia and Sweden in the knockout stages before being cruelly eliminated by Croatia.

Southgate, sporting his signature waistcoat, brought a sense of happiness to England fans who have endured such pain at major tournaments over the last few decades.

The boss even had a song created for him when Atomic Kitten’s ‘Whole Again’ was reworded in support of the Three Lions chief.
