EDEN HAZARD will struggle to reach Maurizio Sarri’s 40-goal target because he is too selfless.
That is according to team-mate Antonio Rudiger, who has hailed the Belgian superstar as an inspiration who leads by example.

Hazard was set a lofty target of 40 strikes by Chelsea boss Sarri back in September after an electric start to the season.
But an eight-game drought over the last two months meant his matchwinner in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Brighton was only his ninth for the campaign.
Rudiger reckons the strength of the Premier League renders such an ambitious tally almost impossible – even if Hazard is looking out of this world right now.
The German defender, 25, said: “He is human, of course he is.

“But the way he is playing is fantastic, we all know what he is capable of. I am happy that he scored.
“He is a leader. He provides a good example, not by speaking but by showing. He gets kicked often, because he is good.
“With respect to the others, I think in the Premier League they are not stupid players, so to reach 40 goals? Maybe he can do it.
“But what he does is OK. We need to respect the other teams, it’s not like they are bad or something.
“He does not have too much of an ego. If he sees other players standing in a better position, he plays them in.”
Winger Hazard was deployed as a false nine for the second successive game, following the 2-0 win over Manchester City earlier this month.
He caused havoc in the Brighton backline during the first 45 minutes, setting up Pedro’s opener and then racing through to double the lead clinically just after the half-hour.
Pal David Luiz added: “Intelligent players can play everywhere. It doesn’t matter the position.
“He is at the top level, he is a world class player, he can play everywhere.

“If you put him in any formation, he can understand it and is going to do it. It doesn’t matter his position, if he is intelligent it is easy to understand and play.”
Brighton reduced the arrears midway through the second half thanks to Solly March’s close-range finish.
It set up a nervy finish which Chelsea just about negotiated their way through.
But boss Sarri was unimpressed and claimed afterwards that when they are in full control of a match, as they were at 2-0, they are most susceptible to danger due to complacency.

The Blues paid the price for doing exactly that at Wolves earlier this month when they chucked away a lead to lose 2-1.
Rudiger said: “In the first half we did well and what we wanted, but the second we were a bit passive.
“Brighton noticed that, we moved the ball too slow and we gave the opportunity to the other side.
“I think we didn’t dominate Wolves so much in the first half like we did yesterday, but it is something we have to work on, to change our mentality.

“Even though we were losing 2-0 we need to learn to kill the match earlier.”
Rudiger also quashed talk he is set for a bumper new contract.
The ex-Roma star explained: “That’s not the case. I think there is also no need.
“I still have three-and-a-half years to go. I like it here, but there is no speaking between me and the club. it is not necessary at the moment.”
