She's had a busy week celebrating the tenth anniversary of her charity Street Child.

But the Duchess of York, 59, let her hair down tonight as attended a Christmas party at Claridge's Hotel in London.

Fergie, as she is affectionately known, mingled with a host of celebrities including model Alexa Chung, 35, at the unveiling of the hotel's Christmas tree, which this year was made in collaboration with fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.

Prince Andrew's ex-wife cut a stylish figure in a purple blouse and black miniskirt for the festive occasion.

Fergie wore her famous red locks loose around her shoulders and accessorised with a pair of diamond earrings, a watch and a delicate silver bracelet.

Keeping out the cold, she teamed her short skirt with black tights, which were worn with a chic pair of black stilettos.

She posed for a number of pictures with other high-profile guests at the event, including von Furstenberg, 71.

Claridge's Christmas tree was unveiled on Tuesday and is 'inspired by Diane's passion and strong belief in the power of love', according to the hotel's website.

Tonight's party was hosted by the fashion designer, alongside British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.

Also on the star-studded guest list was Chung, Lady Sabrina Percy, 28, and Viscountess Weymouth, 32.

Earlier this week Fergie opened up about watching her youngest daughter Princess Eugenie, 28, marry Jack Brooksbank, 32, last month.

Also at tonight's party was Emma, Viscountess Weymouth, 32 (pictured), who wore a navy jumpsuit with a matching featured jacket

Speaking to Hello! magazine, she described the groom as: 'Just the twin flame of [her and] that beautiful man – he looked like James Bond that day.

'And Jack is my son-in-law, and to have a son-in-law is just a blessing.'

The mother-of-two went on to praise the couple's 'inclusive' approach to their nuptials and says it is something they will continue into married life.

She added: 'Their wedding was about love, inclusivity and future and then they go forward with strength because that's who they are. They will always, always be on the edge of inspirational change.'
