FIGHT PREDICTION
By Wally Downes Jr, boxing correspondent
Who would have never thought Tyson Fury would be here.
18 months ago he was morbidly obese and on a suicide mission.
Now I reckon he’s on a split decision path from a higher power.
Who is on the undercard?
- Jarrett Hurd vs Jason Welborn (super welterweight)
- Luis Ortiz vs Travis Kauffman (heavyweight)
- Joe Joyce vs Joe Hanks (heavyweight)
- Mark Anthony Barriga vs Carlos Licona (minimumweight)
- Chris Arreola vs Maurenzo Smith (heavyweight)
- Isaac Lowe vs Lucas Rafael Baez (super featherweight)
- Marsellos Wilder vs David Damore (cruiserweight)
- Jesse Rodriguez vs Alex Aragon (super bantamweight)
- Robert Guerrero vs Adam Mate (welterweight)
- Fernando Castaneda vs Alfredo Angulo (super middleweight)
- Julian Williams vs Francisco Javier Castro (middleweight)
What are their boxing records?
Deontay Wilder is a former Olympic bronze medallist, after losing in the semi-finals at the 2008 Beijing Games.
Since making his professional debut in November 2008, the American has fought 40 times with a remarkable 40-0 record.
Incredibly, Wilder has gone the distance just once, needing 12 rounds and a unanimous decision to beat Bermane Stiverne for the WBC title – he later triumphed in the opening three minutes in their rematch.
The Bronze Bomber has fought just once outside of North America, beating Audley Harrison in Sheffield in 2013 – will look to defend his belt for the eighth time.
Tyson Fury, the self-styled Gypsy King, is also unbeaten but has fought just 27 times in his professional career.

The Brit missed out on a place at the same Olympics as Wilder, after David Price was chosen ahead of him.
But he has made up for it in the paid ranks, knocking out 19 of his opponents, since making his debut in December 2008.
In his 25th fight, Fury claimed the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO world title belts after beating Wladimir Klitschko in one of the fights of the century in 2015.
But a two-year hiatus saw the Gypsy King lose the titles and has only fought twice since returning.

To achieve her kick-ass figure, Hayden – who plays cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes – follows the ‘quartering’ rule. She eats only a quarter of the food on her plate, then waits 20 minutes before deciding whether she needs to eat again.
Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”
Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
