ARSENAL want to sign Manchester United outcast Eric Bailly – but face competition from their arch-rivals.
The Ivory Coast defender has failed to convince boss Jose Mourinho he is the answer to their defensive frailties, and could be on his way out of Old Trafford.
And the Daily Record is reporting that both Arsenal and Tottenham could make their move for the 24-year-old in January.
As soon as the January transfer window opens, Mourinho is certain to press ahead with plans to bring at least one defender through the door.
Bailly has become unsettled after being frozen out by Mourinho due to an alarming dip in form at the start of the campaign.
The 24-year-old was dropped after the horror show at Brighton and was brought back in for the league game at home to Newcastle United last month.
But another disastrous display saw the Ivory Coast defender hooked after just 19 minutes as United trailed the Magpies 2-0 after 10 minutes and has not been seen since.
As well as Arsenal and Tottenham, AC Milan are believed to be prime movers in January for the centre-half.

Ramsey is out of contract in the summer and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with clubs set to swoop.
And Bayern appear to have won the race, according to the Independent, beating the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea to the punch.
