LOVE Island’s Amber Gill was devastated when she was dumped by her partner Michael Griffiths for another girl.

And while the savage dumping was difficult to watch for millions of viewers, it was particularly heartbreaking for her protective mum.

Her mum, Vanessa Waugh, has revealed she found it difficult to watch her daughter going through such pain[/caption]

Mum Vanessa Waugh has revealed she broke down in tears because she could tell her daughter was “embarrassed and hurting”.

But she was proud of the way her “dignified” daughter had bravely handled the situation.

“Although I was heartbroken for her, I was bursting with pride,” she told the Mirror.

“It was difficult to watch her break down and cry.

“I wanted to take her out of the villa and give her a hug and tell her everything is going to be OK. But she needed to cry to get it out of her system.”

Beauty therapist Amber, 21, was heartbroken when Michael snubbed her in favour of new girl Joanna Chimonides in a brutal Casa Amor twist.

The stunner had remained single during her time away from her partner, and was devastated when she came back to find that Michael had replaced her.

The hunky firefighter was then slammed by viewers for “gaslighting” Amber as he blamed her for his decision – insisting that he was forced to stray because she is “childish” and “pathetic”.

Amber broke down as she revealed she still has feelings for Michael Griffiths following a very awkward chat with Marvin Brooks.

Amber told the girls: “I can’t switch off my feelings, I still like Michael. Now I feel like I am really closed off.”

But things are definitely looking up for Amber as she seems head over heels for Irish rugby player Greg O’Shea.
