Expect fine bed linens, rooms with sublime views and top-notch service if you check into any of these luxurious lodges.

The winners of the 26th annual Tatler Travel Awards 2019 have been chosen and here we present the hotels that the influential magazine bestowed gongs upon, from the wild and wonderful to the gold standard bearers.

The judges were travel writers and industry experts - and if you scroll down, you'll see that their decision-making has been spot on.

Heckfield Place in rural Hampshire, England, says Tatler, is a game changer.

It is 'elegant and understated, a brick-and-cream Georgian mansion with sweeping views over meadows and ornamental lakes'. What's more, 'inside they've done that clever trick of keeping all that is beautiful from a historical house and whacking it into the 21st century, with decor that whispers rather than shouts'.

The 45-room hotel, which opened this autumn, was also lauded for its restaurant, helmed by acclaimed Australian chef Skye Gyngell. It features ingredients freshly picked from the kitchen garden. The hotel also won points for its green credentials - it is set to go plastic-free. Rooms cost from £350.

Best location - Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa, Champillon, France

The Tatler judges were blown away by the Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa in France. 'Finally Champagne,' the magazine says, 'has a hotel as instantly seductive, golden-hued and effervescent as our favourite tipple.'

The luxury lodge, a former 17th century coaching inn, has 49 chic rooms looking out over vineyards. Other perks include a world-class spa, infinity pool and two restaurants overseen by Michelin-star chef Jean-Denis Rieubland.

Tatler notes that 'naturally, there's champagne aplenty, with a cellar of 200 varieties paired by Rieubland'. Doubles from £425.

Best for adventure - Camp Kiattua, Nuuk, Greenland

The Tatler experts note that the remote camp was 'initially conceived as a one-off holiday camp for a wealthy friend of Elon Musk... and has welcomed guests including the Jordanian royal family, a Mexican supermodel and a yoga star who shot photos posing naked on icebergs'.

The magazine adds: 'Come by chopper or rib (the only two means of access), sail out to remote Inuit settlements and white beaches, then clink G&Ts chilled by iceberg chips in the wood-fired hot tub. Every moment dazzles.' A six-night trip costs from £4,500, including transfers.

Most family-friendly - Sāo Lourenço Do Barrocal, Portugal

São Lourenço do Barrocal in Portugal, says Tatler, is a 'bucolic retreat'.

It's a farm and resort complex with a hotel, spa, winery and restaurant on the site, and it makes for a perfect family getaway.

Tatler says: 'Children's activities are next level: treasure hunts, archaeological digs, bike rides, pony treks – and there's an on-site play room and pool, too.' Doubles from £165.

Best in Africa - Little Mombo Camp, Okavango Delta, Botswana

In total there are three tents, and the Tatler team state that 'here, size matters, and each of your three tents is considerably larger than your average Chelsea [London] flat, with stocked bars, vast beds and copper baths boasting one of the loveliest game-viewing situations in Botswana'.

The camp overlooks a floodplain regularly visited by herds of wildlife and facilities include a dining area, fire pit, kitchen, lounge and pool. Abercrombie & Kent offers three nights, full board, from £3,560.

Best in Asia - Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, China

Mandarin Oriental's first and flagship hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong has long been a celebrity favourite, with past guests including Kate Moss, The Beatles, Michael Caine, Kevin Costner, Bill Clinton and Princess Diana.

In total, there are 501 guestrooms, ten restaurants and a lavish three-storey spa.

The Tatler team says that the hotel is 'one of Asia's most charismatic' and promises to 'satisfy every desire - you can have your hair blow-dried, spend hours over a sumptuous afternoon tea or be measured up for a razor-sharp suit'. Abercrombie & Kent offers three nights, full board, from £1,565, including breakfast, flights and transfers.

Best for city style - Mr. C Seaport, New York

The slickly-designed hotel boasts 66 finely appointed guest rooms and suites, with standout features including lengths of lustrous teak veneer, rain showers, 50 inch interactive high definition TVs and fine Italian linens.

Adding to its allure, the Tatler experts note that the hotel is 'located in a glamorous area' and 'boasts incredible views of the Brooklyn Bridge'. The magazine adds: 'Throw a dinner party for half a dozen good friends on the terrace of your suite and they'll never forget it. Afterwards, dance on the Seaport cobblestones out in the moonlight. It's all so right, so how New York is meant to be.' Doubles from £405.
