SPEEDBOAT killer Jack Shepherd has been granted leave to appeal his conviction — while still on the run.

Shepherd, 31, has been at large since skipping his manslaughter trial over the death of date Charlotte Brown, 24.

She died when his ageing boat flipped at high speed on the River Thames in London.

He was found guilty and sentenced to six years in his absence but has not yet served a single day in prison.

But incredibly, despite being a fugitive for six months, appeal court judges have ruled Shepherd DOES have a strong enough case to try to overturn his conviction.

Last night Charlotte’s dad Graham Brown, 55, blasted: “We thought this absurd appeal would be thrown out immediately.

“But apparently the judicial system thinks it’s fair someone on the run can launch an appeal.

“To do that, Shepherd must be in contact with his lawyers. It’s disgusting.” Mr Brown is due to meet Home Secretary Sajid Javid this month.

Shepherd’s lawyers are in line for more legal aid for the court battle — on top of the £93,000 taxpayers’ cash already paid.

Shepherd, of Paddington, Central London, fled just before his trial.

Charlotte, of Clacton, Essex, died soon after meeting web designer Shepherd in 2015. He was drinking before the crash.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
