THE man suspected of stabbing a police officer and two revellers in a New Year’s Eve bloodbath in Manchester shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he was arrested last night.
Snapchat footage from outside Victoria station show the man screaming the phrase – Arabic for “God is great” – as he was bundled into a police van.
The attacker was earlier heard shouting “Allah” as he launched the terrifying attack just before 9pm.
Counter-terror cops are investigating after a British Transport Police officer, a woman and a man were stabbed on the train platform.
It took place close to the Manchester Arena – where terrorist Salman Abedi murdered 22 people in a suicide bomb attack in May 2017.
Terrified passengers described hearing a “blood curdling scream” down the platform and were forced to run down the tram tracks after seeing a man wielding a 12-inch kitchen knife.

The woman was stabbed in the face and the stomach and the man was stabbed in the gut, in what police said was a “critical” incident. Both are said to be in their 50s.
A BTP officer, in his thirties was stabbed in the shoulder. He was later released from hospital.
BBC producer Sam Clack said cops used a Taser and pepper spray before “six or seven” officers jumped on the man who ranted about British foreign policy.
The station was last night put on lockdown as counter terror cops carry out an investigation.
Mr Clack, 38, said: “I just heard this most blood curdling scream and looked down the platform.
“What it looked like was a guy in his 60s with a woman of similar age and another guy all dressed in black.
“It looked like they were having a fight but she was screaming in this blood curdling way.
“I saw police in high-viz come towards him.
“He came towards me. I looked down and saw he had a kitchen knife with a black handle with a good, 12 inch blade.
“It was just fear, pure fear.”
Mr Clack, from Newcastle, said he had been out with friends for a New Year’s Eve drink in the city centre and was waiting for the East Didsbury tram home when the attack happened.
He said he heard the knifeman shouting, “Allah” during the attack.
He added: “He shouted it before, he shouted it during it – Allah.”
As police appeared “within seconds” the knifeman backed down the platform towards where he was standing alone.
He continued: “I just had a feeling in the pit of my stomach.
“Here’s a man whose very agitated, angry, skittish. It appears he had already attacked someone. He had police coming towards him and he’s coming towards me.
“I thought what I need to do is jump onto the tracks because next thing he’s going to do is turn around and stab me. He’s looking about, side to side and jumpy.
“At one point one of the police officers fired the Taser but it missed him. Then he got pepper sprayed and tasered and he went to the ground.
“The guy, his exact words were, he said, ‘As long as you keep bombing other countries, this sort of s*** is going to keep happening’.”
Mr Clack said he then realised the man in his 60s had been stabbed as there was blood “splattered” on the platform.
“He was stabbed in the head and once in the back,” he said.
“His shirt was covered in blood. His partner was 60-ish. She had a bandage on her head.”
He added: “It was scary. I have never been so scared in my life. Someone with a knife six to eight feet away, he had just stabbed someone. It was the proximity.”
Another witness, Rebekka, told the Mirror: “I heard the most bloodcurdling scream I’ve ever heard and turned to see everyone running towards me.
“Some guy told me to run. I jumped off the tram track and started to run down the tram lines and hid behind some concrete slabs under one of the arches.
“I had no idea what had happened at this point, I was just really scared, I didn’t know if I was going to die.
“Eventually we walked back and I’d heard people were stabbed.”
The suspected knifeman was being quizzed on suspicion of attempted murder last night.
The three people stabbed had serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
A spokesman for BTP Manchester said: “A man has been detained and two members of the public, a man and a woman have been taken to hospital with knife injuries.
“A BTP officer is also receiving treatment for a stab wound to the shoulder.”

“While we don’t yet know the full circumstances and are keeping an open mind, officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West are leading on the investigation.
“This is to ensure we have all the expertise available to us and progress our investigation as soon as we possibly can.”
