A PERPLEXED Maurizio Sarri slammed his cocky stars after a humbling defeat at Wolves.
Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota scored two goals in four minutes to hand Chelsea their second defeat of the season and leave them 10 points behind leaders Man City.
Blues host champions City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge and Sarri says a knock to his team’s swagger may prove helpful.
Chelsea’s chief said: “After this match, we have lost confidence but maybe it’s better because sometimes my players show me that they have too much confidence.”
Sarri was incensed after seeing his side blow a comfortable lead following Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s 18th minute strike in his first league start for 33 months.
The Italian questioned his team’s attitude after they capitulated following Jimenez’s goal just before the hour mark.

He said: “We were suddenly another team, without the right distances, without our football.
“I don’t know why, but I am really very worried — not for the result but for the fact we didn’t react to the first goal of the opponent. We didn’t react at all.”
Chelsea had a shout for a penalty early on in the second half when Alvaro Morata was hauled down in the penalty area, but Sarri had no interest.
He said: “It’s not important for me. Maybe it was important for the result, but not for me.
“I have to understand why the team suddenly was another team. We were in control of the match, we had to play 30-35 minutes. It wasn’t a big problem.”
The Chelsea boss gave Cesc Fabregas, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen their first league starts of the season but didn’t believe his shuffle had any impact on the result.
He said: “After 55 minutes, I say yes I am really very happy but then we lost everything — our football, the result.
“It can happen but I don’t think it depends on the changes.”
