EASTENDERS fans were left in hysterics during last night’s episode of the soap – after Jean served tea and crumpets over Alfie’s ‘dead’ body.
At that point in the show, the Slaters believed Alfie was dead after falling down the stairs at home.
His body had been moved into the living room so no one could see him.
But Jean didn’t seem too bothered at the thought of a corpse by the sofa as she handed out food to her family.
She said: “There’s never not a good time for a cup of tea!”
And it didn’t go unnoticed with viewers at home, who took to Twitter to discuss Jean’s eager hosting skills.
One wrote: “Love how Jean is just making tea and crumpets and handing it out over Alfie’s corpse #EastEnders”.
Another said: “omg lol Jean is all buttered krumpets, does it get any better. Practically stepping over DeadNotDeadAlfie. it’s so Christmasy! #eastenders”.
