A TRANSGENDER woman jailed for dousing her ex in bleach has avoided prison after lashing out at cops who “didn’t use the proper pronouns”.
Charlotte Blundell, 26, had been sentenced to 22 months for a “frenzied” attack on her ex-boyfriend – during which she also tried to set him on fire and stabbed him with a screwdriver.
She has now been spared more time behind bars after going berserk at cops who she claimed didn’t address her as a woman, Newcastle Chronicle reports.
Officers had been sent to arrest Blundell for breaching a restraining order, North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court heard.
But when they arrived they allegedly failed to address Blundell as “she” or “her” – and apparently called her by her old name Justin.
Blundell claimed: “They didn’t use words like ‘she’, or ‘her’ – they were saying ‘he’ or ‘Justin’.
“The cop said ‘you are dressed like a man – so you will be arrested like a man’.”
LASHED OUT
She lashed out in a fit of rage – and was later charged with attempted criminal damage of a police vehicle and failing to surrender.
Blundell, of Wallsend, North Tyneside, was also charged with two counts of harassment relating to the restraining order breach.
She appeared via video link on June 25 with short, shaved hair and a green T-shirt and answered charges put to her as both Charlotte and Justin.
When asked why she wasn’t dressed as Charlotte, Blundell replied that someone burned her wig and clothes as she slept.

She admitted the charges and magistrates sentenced her to an 18-month community order.
But she has refused to apologise – claiming that she reacted because of the officers’ behaviour.
Blundell said: “In my opinion, they got everything they deserved.

Northumbria Police declined to comment on the claims.
