"Many Photos" - Paddy Power confirm controversial Huddersfield sash kit WAS a hoax.. and will instead have NO branding on new shirt this season

PADDY POWER have revealed that their dog’s dinner of a Huddersfield shirt was a hoax.

The betting company stuck a huge stash on next season’s supposed shirt – and supporters thought they had screwed the pooch.

But the actual kit looks great and features no Paddy Power logo

But barking mad Terriers fans now have their tails up as their actual strip will feature no branding at all in a brilliant marketing stunt.

Fans were split on Twitter, with some complaining the paw banter had hit them hard.

While others were delighted to see a respectable design for the Championship campaign.

Paddy Power MD, Victor Corcoran, said: “Shirt sponsorship in football has gone too far.

“We accept that there is a role for sponsors around football, but the shirt should be sacred.

“So today we are calling on other sponsors to join the Save Our Shirt campaign, and give something back to the fans.

“As a sponsor, we know our place, and it’s not on your shirt.”

Paddy Power will trade 500 new shirts for older versions during the Terriers’ first game against Derby on August 5.

They have also donated their sponsorship of the club’s training kit to the Huddersfield Town foundation.

Town boss Jan Siewert can now focus on the season ahead after failing to spark an unlikely push for safety when he replaced David Wagner.
