A DRUNKEN teenager drowned in 12 inches of slurry after stumbling into a building site by mistake.

Marcin Porczyk, 18, would have been “disorientated and confused” when he got lost after a night downing spirits with his flatmates.

An inquest heard Marcin was tragically found two days later lying in a thick slurry of mud and sludge on a building site.

The football-mad student had been studying Business Management at Swansea University.

Flatmate Harry Hutchinson said Marcin was “happy, coherent and able to converse” on their night out on January 22, 2017.

Marcin was last seen at 3am after drinking at Fiction nightclub and Fancy A Rum? in Swansea city centre, South Wales.

Digger driver Matthew Davies spotted the outline of his body in 12 inches of building waste.

A postmortem found Marcin’s body was “caked” head to toe in a muddy and wet slurry – which had gone into his eyes, nostrils and mouth.

A toxicology report showed he had two and a half times the legal driving limit of alcohol in his body.

Dr Nadine Burke gave a cause of death as immersion into cold, wet mud slurry whilst intoxicated through alcohol.

She added: “It was only seven degrees outside and he was only in a T-shirt, so the chances of hypothermia are very likely.”

Coroner Paul Bennett recorded a conclusion of accidental death at the Swansea inquest.

He said: “At some point, Marcin entered the site and became disorientated and confused, and ended up in the slurry.

“He inhaled a significant amount to make him drown.”
