When did Libby Squire go missing?

Over 70 cops are searching for the University of Hull student, 21, who was last seen around on Thursday night January 31 after taking a cab from a nightclub.

The 21-year-old philosophy student was “falling over drunk” as she disappeared, two of the last people to see her say.

Libby was uneasy on her feet, “mumbling incomprehensibly” and fell over two or three times, the witnessed said.

The 70-strong police search for Libby has entered its fifth day today after she went missing in Hull on Thursday night.

Mum Lisa pleaded on Facebook for her daughter to come home and thanked “all the fantastic students who turned out” to help look for her daughter.

Police found lip gloss, a screwdriver and a hammer in a hedge close to where she was last seen but it was not known if they are connected to the case.

Last night officers were seen swabbing a front door on the street where Libby lived.

What’s the latest news on the Hull student?

Now, her mum Lisa Squire has made a desperate plea for her return on Facebook.

“I’m broken without my pie. Libby Squire come home,” she said.

Thanking the students who searched the university campus on Saturday, she said in the post: “She is obviously loved by so many.”

The driver who was reported to have spotted her at around 11.45pm in Beverley Road, near the junction with Beresford Avenue got out of his car and helped Libby, Humberside Police said.

The force issued an appeal for the man to get in touch with them and stressed he is a witness and not a suspect.

Officers spoke with a man on February 4, adding the man had come forward and “really helped out” with the ongoing investigation.

Despite talking to the man they said they remained “extremely concerned for her welfare”.

A woman living close to where Libby went missing claims she heard ” blood-curdling screams” at 12.30am on February 1.

She said they were so terrifying she sat up in bed and said: “Oh my God.”

Speaking at a press conference that morning, Superintendent Simon Gawthorpe said: “We are supporting Libby’s family who have described her as a thoughtful and caring young woman who puts others before herself.

“Officers are out again today searching and we hope to be able to locate Libby safe and well today.

“We continue to ask people to check their gardens and outbuildings in case Libby has gone into them to stay safe.”

He continued: “She was last seen on CCTV on Beverley Road close to the junction with Haworth Street at around 11.45pm. From there she may have walked in either direction down Beverley Road, or down Haworth Street.”
