It was an obvious penalty, with Aguero being choked as he tried to connect with Kevin De Bruyne’s pass.
Atkinson missed it, ignoring the genuine appeals of Manchester City’s baffled players.
There was a time when he would have nailed a decision like that. Sadly, those days look to be behind him.
MARCO SILVA’S approach to Wednesday’s clash with Manchester City will be fascinating.
The Everton locals are on his case after a dreadful showing in the 3-1 defeat against Wolves at Goodison Park on Wednesday.
Preparation time is short for Silva, but he will need to work on defending set-pieces ahead of this clash with this free-scoring City side.
