"Many Photos" - Super Bowl 2019 – Commercials for new Captain Marvel movie, Stella Artois and Audi get sports fans talking

SUPER Bowl viewers were bowled over by the quality of some of the ads that aired during the epic match on Sunday night.

Beer, a new car and an upcoming blockbuster movie appeared to top the list of sports fans’ favourites, according to Google search stats.

The trailer for the new Captain Marvel film starring Brie Larson and Jude Law was met with a huge response on social media.

One fan wrote: “I’m screaming in so many languages” – while another simple wrote “OH M G O D”.

Meanwhile, a new ad for Stella Artois left viewers thirsty for more.

Sex In The City star Sarah Jessica Parker stunned in a plunging dress as she passed up her character’s typical cosmopolitan cocktail for a pint of the beer.

The Captain Marvel trailer impressed Super Bowl viewers

The 53-year-old was joined by Jeff Bridges, who channelled his cult-classic character from the Big Lebowski as he ordered a bottle of Stella instead of a White Russian.

One viewer wrote: “Big Lebowski Stella Artois for the win on first half commercials #SuperBowl”.

And another added: “Okay, I loved that Stella Artois ad”.

But it was an Audi ad that appeared to get the biggest laughs from Super Bowl viewers.

The commercial showed a man being greeted by his doting grandpa before being shown into a barn holding a futuristic Audi motor.

The Audi ad, named ‘Cashews’, left viewers in stitches

He sits excitedly at the wheel of the car before suddenly jolting upright.

It is then that the shot cuts to him being saved from chocking on a cashew – which he then spits out before it dawns on him that he had been close to heaven.

An impressed Super Bowl viewer commented: “Ok, Audi. I see you. You’ve been the only ad I’ve liked yet.”

Commercials are a big part of the money-spinning Super Bowl extravaganza – with half-time ad slots thought to cost up to $4million (£3.06m).

The New England Patriots were taking on the LA Rams at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
