"Many Photos" - Jedward fan shocked as Amazon’s Alexa claims Irish pop duo died aged 17 in 2011 — despite them since touring and having a TV show

A FAN asking about pop duo Jedward was told they were dead by Amazon’s Alexa.

The talking gadget insisted the 27-year-old twins had died aged 17 on August 18, 2011.

According to Alexa the Irish duo Jedward died on August 18 2011 though they are in fact thought to be in good health

That is despite the pair since touring, having a TV show and representing Ireland in Eurovision.

Jamie Rai, 40, turned to the voice-activated device while watching Jedward on Channel 4’s Celebrity Coach Trip.

He said: “I thought to myself, ‘They never bloody age’. So I asked, ‘Alexa how old is Jedward?’ It was surprising to hear that they were dead.”

Yesterday The Sun tried asking a number of other Alexa pods the lads’ age and was given the same answer. Jedward — John and Edward Grimes — shot to fame on X Factor in 2009, despite Simon Cowell describing them as “not very good and incredibly annoying”.

The Sun contacted Amazon who sorted out the glitch — only for Alexa to say the twins were 25. Last night Amazon said: “It’s been fixed.”

Jedward did not respond to a request for comment.
