FURIOUS Coleen Rooney has gone into hiding after husband Wayne went on a booze bender around Florida with a pretty young barmaid – with friends fearing it is a “humiliation too far”.
The Sun Online can reveal the 32-year-old has not responded to close friends or posted on her private social media accounts, switched her phone off and shut herself away in the wake of the revelations yesterday.
A source close to Coleen explained this latest shock comes after a nightmare month that also included Wayne’s arrest for “public intoxication” and what would have been her late sister Rosie’s 21st birthday.
They explained: “Coleen is so lonely and close to breaking point – how can she face people when he keeps embarrassing her like this?
“She has barely had time to calm down from the last humiliation. It’s been an emotional few weeks for her with Rosie’s 20th birthday and now this, it’s worrying to say the least.
“Usually when Wayne does something terrible – and sadly that happens all too often – she would be quite vocal about how angry she is. This time she’s gone completely silent.”
The source added: “It’s feels like this is a humiliation too far and she has nobody to turn to over there.”
The Sun told how DC United footballer Wayne, 33, knocked back shots until 2.30am with barmaid Vicki Rosiek in Florida’s Clearwater Beach.
He had a cosy chat with her and shared a car with her alone on a ten-hour booze-up, after being seen getting cash outside a branch of Hooters.
Long-suffering Coleen was thought to be 900 miles away with their four sons at the family home in Washington DC.
Timeline of the 10-hour session
- 4.20pm: Rooney kicks off his session at the Pier House 60 marina hotel in Clearwater Beach. He downs drinks while watching the first half of the Super Bowl.
- 8.05pm: Rooney walks to the Surfside Taphouse to join his DC United teammates as they watch the second half of the match in which the New England Patriots defeat the Los Angeles Rams.
- 10.20pm: He pops to ATM outside Hooters bar — famed for scantily-clad waitresses — with a teammate.
- 10.45pm: Rooney arrives at The Brown Boxer with the teammate.
- 11pm: Teammate leaves the bar, with Rooney left on his own drinking.
- 12.20am: Rooney goes over and speaks to 32-year-old blonde Vicki Rosiek.
- 12.30am: The pair leave The Brown Boxer and drive to The Shipwreck pub in her car.
- 2.30am: Rooney is said by Vicki to have left The Shipwreck.
- 3am: Vicki comes out and goes home with a pal in a car.
Wayne famously put his marriage to Coleen in jeopardy in similar fashion 18 months ago, when he was caught in party girl Laura Simpson’s car in Cheshire.
Wayne and his teammates were on a 12-night training trip to Florida ahead of the new season when he started drinking at 4.20pm, while watching the Super Bowl.
Just before 10.30pm, he arrived at the Brown Boxer before speaking to 32-year-old Vicki at 12.20am and leaving in her car to go to nautical-theme bar The Shipwreck ten minutes later.
He stayed for more than two hours, chatting cosily with Vicki. She said he left at 2.30am with her departing soon after at 3am, in a car with a friend.
While there, Rooney asked DJ Matt Valet to play a Mumford & Sons song — only for the American to be bamboozled by his Liverpudlian accent.
Matt told The Sun: “He was requesting a song but his accent was very thick. In the end, he had to type it into my phone.
“I’d never heard of the song and unfortunately it wasn’t in my playlist. He seemed bummed out when I could not play it.”
Last month, Wayne was arrested for public intoxication, but his spokesman insisted it was the result of feeling “disorientated” after taking sleeping tablets on a flight while drinking.
