She was already left in floods of tears after being surprised with a basket of puppies for her 38th birthday.
But Holly Willoughby didn't hide her desperation to take the adorable pooches home, as she begged her husband Dan Baldwin to consider the new pets live on Thursday's This Morning.
Her emotional response came as the leading charity Dogs Trust told MailOnline that they do not advise on giving such dogs as gifts, though they also insisted in a statement this was not in a direct reference to the show.
Pretty please? Holly Willoughby resorted to begging her husband Dan Baldwin to let her keep a puppy on Thursday's This Morning, after being given a basket of pooches for her birthday
Show your wild side like Holly wearing a dress by Ba&sh
It’s been a while since we spotted Holly Willoughby rocking some leopard print, but she should do it more often seeing as she can pull it off so effortlessly.
And on today’s This Morning show she proved it by wearing this stunning Ba&sh leopard print dress, as styled by Angie Smith with L.K.Bennett shoes.
The presenter always turns to the brand when she needs a statement piece, and the ‘Fifi’ dress is just that. We love the frilly trims that add a feminine charm to the dress, and if you look closer you’ll see the off-centre button detailing finishes the dress perfectly.
Not that you need any more encouragement to buy some animal print, but Holly’s dress is available at Selfridges for £265 (click right).
Alternatively, if you want to get the look for less then check out this replica we spotted at Missguided for only £25. Or why not opt for something a little wild from Mango or Liquorish?

Holly was given the ultimate early birthday surprise on as Phil unveiled the trolley full of puppies, bursting into floods of tears at the gift, while rushing to grab one and give it a cuddle.
'My present to you!' he declared as the eight week old Pomeranian puppies were bought in to the tune of Puppy Love.
'Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god' shrieked Holly. 'They're so cute! Can I pick one up? OMG that's just the cutest thing I've ever seen.'
'You are just so sweet. She's so sweet' cooed Holly as she held one of the pups.

I want one! Later in the show Holly begged Dan to let her bring on the dogs home, saying to the camera: 'If my husband's watching, darling please!'

While many viewers were thrilled to see Holly's heartwarming response to the gift, the charity Dog's Trust told MailOnline they do not advise giving such animals as presents.
In a statement - which they noted did not reflect the show and instead was in reference to gifting dogs in general - they said: 'As our phrase goes ‘A dog is for life’ and it is important people remember that getting a pet is a lifelong commitment and that proper research should be done before making that decision.
'We wouldn’t recommend giving pets as presents as unfortunately we know from handovers at our rehoming centres, many of these gifts are unwanted.
'If you have made the decision to get a puppy, we would definitely recommend it gets lots of socialisation, so they are comfortable around people and other animals; however it is also important to be mindful that due to their age, they will also need to rest more frequently, so should always have access to a comfortable area or bed they can retreat to when tired.'
Smitten: 'He will not be fine with it,' insisted Holly. 'I can't believe you made me cry over a puppy this is the best thing ever...But then I have to give it back!' she realised
Many viewers also slammed This Morning bosses for having the puppies appear on the show, with others claiming it was a wrongful promotion of puppy farming,
One wrote: 'Cannot believe you think it appropriate to use puppies as gifts to 'play with.'
Another added: 'Disappointing to see @thismorning and @schofe sending out the message that buying puppies as surprise gifts is a good idea. Especially after your re-homing section recently. It's exactly this kind of action which means dogs end up in rescue centres.'
Irate: However some viewers took to Twitter to slam show bosses for parading the young animals in such a manner, and some even suggested it promoted puppy farming
Meanwhile Holly was also delighted to hear she had the honour of naming one of the pooches, and admitted she wanted to take inspiration from a dream.
She said: 'Maybe I should call him Bertie... Because I'm crying if I'm only having Bertie for the day I'm holding him!' she said before asking the show's first guest Home Secretary Sajid Javid if he'd mind her holding the puppy during their interview.
But sadly as the show came to an end Holly admitted she was unable to take the puppy home despite desperately wanting to.

Clearly overcome with emotion, the TV host admitted meeting the Sheepdog puppies - particularly one called Missy - had left her in pieces.
She said: 'She’s made me cry twice this morning. Any one holds Missy and hold her paw, she’s got such a special energy she’s just amazing.’
