EDDIE HEARN has been labelled “desperate” by boxing fans angry that Anthony Joshua will fight Jarrell Miller next.
It was announced in the week that Joshua would defend his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight world titles against the man known as “Big Baby”.

It led to stinging criticism in many quarters that the Watford-born boxer hadn’t managed to fight one of the division’s top boxers such as Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury or Dillian Whyte.
But it seems fight fans aren’t confident this will ever happen.
The Matchroom promoter tweeted out a comparison table of Joshua, Wilder and Fury, with a list of the opponents they have faced.

It was a clear attempt to prove the point that AJ has fought better boxers in his first 23 fights.
This included taking on four world champions and having eight world title fights.
But people were quick to comment on the status poking fun at promoter and fighter.
Twitter user “Joey” wrote: “lmao, trying desperately to get fans back on side, have been since the Whyte interview which showed yours and AJ’s true colours.”

“Verity” posted: “This aint changing anybody’s feelings”, and Jason Howard adds that “The list is wrong it forgot to mention Joshua is fighting them when they are ready to retire”.
Tayo Salaam wrote: “Desperate times Ed.”
Liam Edwards posted that it is “a crap fight” and another added that it was “another gimme for AJ”.
Many were quick to post their criticism comparing AJ vs Miller to Fury vs Wilder.
Aaron Smith wrote: “Like how you have to keep living in past what about today?? AJ V Miller
or wilder vs fury no contest Eddie.”

Despite the criticism flying in, AJ’s world title defence against Miller has broken Madison Square Garden’s pre-sale record.
And it took only TWO HOURS to become the highest grossing pre-sale in the history of the arena.
The last record holder was for the fight between Gennady Golovkin against David Lemieux on October 17, 2015.
A reported 6,000 pre-sale tickets were sold for that middleweight fight – at that time that was the most ever for a boxing event at the New York City venue.
But AJ vs Miller has now surpassed that.
