"Many Photos" - Duchess of Cornwall looks chic as she joins Vogue editor at London fashion week

The front row is usually reserved for A-list actors, models of the moment and fashion industry heavyweights, but today a royal took a much-coveted spot as the Duchess of Cornwall made her London Fashion Week debut. 

Camilla surprised guests at the Bethany Williams show, landing a plum spot alongside British Vogue editor Edward Enninful and British Fashion Council chief Caroline Rush. 

The royal, 71, looked elegant for her first ever Fashion Week in a navy and white striped dress by Bruce Oldfield, paired with her customary statement pearl necklace, a black clutch and black court heels.

Her attendance comes after the Queen made her own Fashion Week debut in February 2018, sitting next to Vogue editor Anna Wintour at Richard Quinn's show.

Camilla was in attendance to present Bethany Williams with the second Queen Elizabeth II award for British Design, launched by Her Majesty during last year's visit.

Camilla, 71, dressed up for the occasion in a navy dress, with white block colours on the skirt, teamed with black court shoes 

Camilla's attendance comes after the Queen made a rare appearance at fashion week last February at Richard Quinn's show in February 2018, where she sat alongside Vogue editor Anna Wintour 

As Camilla sat among a handful of British fashion editors she smiled and spoke to Edward as they took in the show.

Camilla's smart look, with a tailored navy and white dress, along with styled hair and a classic make up look was spot on for the occasion.

After the show the Duchess Of Cornwall delivered a speech as she presented the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II award for British Design to Bethany Williams for sustainability and social change within her business.

The award, which the queen presented last year, is awarded annually to an emerging British fashion designer who shows exceptional talent and originality.

Last year the Queen surprised guests at Richard Quinn´s show to present the award, after she sat in the front row - to the delight of onlookers. 

Richard Quinn, who's show she attended, won the award as he was recognised for his exceptional bold prints. 

The award aims to provide continuing recognition of the cultural and trade role the British design and fashion industry has played throughout the Queen’s reign.

Who is Bethany Williams? 

British designer Bethany Williams, 29, graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2016 with a MA in Menswear. 

The designer aims to tackle social and environmental issues in her work. For years she volunteered at shelters and soup kitchens, and it was while she worked at a food bank in Brighton that she realised she wanted to use fashion for change.  

Today she presented her SS19 collection 'No Address Needed to Join' at London Fashion Week. Her collection celebrates waste materials from the publishing industry and the innovative Mobile Library Charity.
