SHOP, horror! Our weekly bills at the supermarket are getting ever more expensive.
In the latest blow to households, Waitrose recently upped the cost of four pints of milk by 5p to £1.15, after hikes at Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

If the constant price rises are getting you down, here we suggest where you can bag some cheaper basket essentials this week . . .
- Milk: Stock up on a four-pinter of this most basic of staples at Tesco for just £1.09 — a snip compared to Morrisons For Farmers, at £1.38.
SAVING: 48p - Loo roll: Asda is still the cheapest here — with 18 Andrex toilet rolls for £7, down from £9.65.
SAVING: £2.65 - Tea bags: Tesco is keeping us happy thanks to their cheap and cheerful deal on Yorkshire Tea, £3 for 160 bags, down from £5.39 — and cheaper than other big retailers.
SAVING: £2.39 - Apples: You know what they say, an apple a day keeps the doctor away — and Lidl has you sorted for this core staple. Its green apples are currently a bargain at 59p for 670g, which works out at just 88p per kilo.
This is a huge saving when compared to Tesco, where loose green Granny Smiths cost £2.20 per kilo.
SAVING: £1.31 per kilo - Baked beans: Save on the breakfast favourite by heading to Asda, where a can of their own-brand offering sells for 23p — a saving compared to Tesco’s Own, which comes in at 32p.
