A BRIT apparently from a group dubbed the “tourists from hell” has been charged with assault after allegedly driving at a woman on a New Zealand beach.
The 26-year-old man is also charged with reckless driving after the fracas at Auckland’s Takapuna Beach.

He is alleged to have assaulted a woman using a car as a weapon on January 13 – the same day as a British “yob” family were slammed for littering and swearing at beach-goers.
The accused, who has not been named, is also alleged to have used a car recklessly in the town of Takapuna.
A police spokesman said officers were still investigating the alleged incident on the city’s North Shore.
The man will appear at Auckland District Court on Thursday.
An assault using a car carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
The reckless driving charge carries a sentence of up to three months in prison and a £2,330 fine.
TOURISTS ‘FROM HELL’
It comes after the tourist group, believed to be from Liverpool, England, were slammed when video was posted on social media of them leaving rubbish at Takapuna Beach and threatening people.
Footage showed a young boy threatening witness Krista Curnow – telling her he would “knock your brains out”.
The 12-strong group was then accused of not paying for meals at various Auckland restaurants.
They were also seen speaking to police and immigration officers at a Hamilton Burger King.
Some members of the group were handed deportation notices on January 16.
Tina Maria Cash, 26, also pleaded guilty to shoplifting from a petrol station.

Auckland’s mayor, Phil Goff, spearheaded a confrontational backlash, branding the group, which ranges from toddlers to grandparents, “a***holes* and “worse than pigs”.
But Cash’s brothers-in-law, who gave their names as John and David Johnson, insisted they had been unfairly hounded.
They told local media they were “a respectable family” from Liverpool who were now too scared to go to an airport.
John said: “We are hiding at the moment. We don’t know what to do.”
