"Many Photos" - Hollyoaks’ Adam Rickitt says Nancy and Kyle’s fling could lead to a long-term relationship for the ‘soulmates’

HOLLYOAKS’ Adam Rickitt has revealed that Nancy and Kyle’s fling could lead to something more long-term.

The 40-year-old – who plays Kyle – dubbed the pair ‘soulmates’ as he teased what is going to happen after next week’s episodes when they are caught having sex.

And the soapstar believes there could be a permanent reunion on the cards, as he continues to help Nancy move on following her split from Darren.

Speaking to Digital Spy at the National Television Awards, Adam said: “My gut feeling is that it’s going to be a long-term thing. There is more to them than just a physical attraction.

“There’s soulmates, there’s life-long love since they were 16 and there’s a lot of history.

“It’s a really interesting coupling and it’ll be interesting to see what the audience thinks.”

The star added that the fate of their relationship will be down to whether the audience like them as a couple or not.

He also said: “You’ve got to remember they are childhood sweethearts, and even though everyone says, ‘But he’s gay’, he’s always had a backstory of his first love being Nancy.”

“For him, Nancy is the ultimate comfort blanket but also somebody he is drawn to.”

Last year, Nancy (Jessica Fox) was devastated to learn that her husband Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) had been sleeping with Mandy (Sarah Jayne Dunn).

Previously teasing the plot to OK! Magazine, Adam said: “It’s definitely emotional, it’s quite a long burner as well.

“It goes on for a year or so there’s lots of ups and downs to it.

“You do see, and it’s such a cliche, him going on an emotional journey.”
