WHEN it comes to dieting, there are dozens of options out there – meaning it can be really hard to choose.
Luckily, Channel 4’s How To Lose Weight Well has been trialling all sorts of weight loss regimes – putting normal Brits on different meal plans and diets to see which is the most effective.

What is How to Lose Weight Well and who are the hosts?
How to Lose Weight Well is a show in which members of the public road test some of the most talked about diets around, all so you don’t have to.
The presenting team is led by Dr. Xand van Tulleken, the author of How to Lose Weight Well.
Dr. Xand famously slimmed down from 19 stone – and is dedicated to helping others do the same.
He is joined by fellow dieticians who help him out along the way.
Dr. Xand will also put his own body to the test, by trying out the latest weight loss gadgets and meeting the experts behind the cutting edge techniques.

What are some of the diets we’ll see in this series?
Potato Diet
The potato diet sees the dieter eat nothing but potatoes.
They are advised to eat 2 to 5 pounds of it per day depending on their appetite, to be exact.
As for beverages, you’re allowed to consume black tea, herbal teas, black coffee, and water.
Cabbage Diet
This diet plan aims to make you shed fat fast, which explains why many see it as a quick fix.
As for what you do during the diet, it’s pretty straightforward.
You spend a week eating copious amounts of cabbage soup.
You’re also allowed a small selection of other food like fruits and baked potato.
