THISTLECRACK is set to line up in the Cheltenham Gold Cup for the first time following a brilliant run in the King George.

Runner-up in the King George on Boxing Day, a race that he won in 2016, the Colin Tizzard-trained 11-year-old has demonstrated that he’s back to best after a catalogue of injury problems.

Although beaten when last seen at Cheltenham in the Cotswold Chase, connections are confident he has a big chance of landing the famous contest.

Snook said: “I was delighted with his run at Kempton. It was just nice for the horse to run such a good race and make it competitive.

“He and Clan Des Obeaux left the rest of the field for dead, and he just found one too good.

“Everyone is writing him off because of his age, as he is getting on, but I could not see too much wrong with that performance. It was about as good a performance as when he won the race two years ago.

“If all the others are Gold Cup prospects, then bring it on.”

He added: “Unless my trainer tells us any different, he will go straight to the Gold Cup. I’ve always wanted a horse to run in the Gold Cup, and this will be the third season we have tried with him, and I will probably never get another chance.

“The most important thing is getting the horses to their destination at the end of the day.

“I’ve not been down to Colin’s since – but as far as I know, he has been fine.”

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”

Kim says: “I am no super-thin Hollywood actress. I am built for men who like women to look like women.”
