PHILLIP Schofield has been giving Kem Cetinay secret tips on how to be a top TV presenter ahead of his first show as digital reporter for Dancing on Ice.
Kem, 22, has been advised by the This Morning host to have “something to fiddle with” during his live segment for the ITV series – after revealing he plays with his wedding ring to help control his nerves.
Love Island winner Kem, who competed on the dance show last year, says Phil, 56, has become his mentor in rehearsals as he prepares to take over the role from Jordan Banjo.
In an exclusive interview he said: “I am really, really nervous about Sunday. I’ve got to be able to present in front of Phil and Holly and that makes me feel very nervous.
“But Phil has properly taken me under his wing; he’s been supporting me in rehearsals.
“He knows it’s a big thing for me so he wants me to do well. He’s been making an effort to show me the ropes and teaching me little tricks.
“I tend to talk with my hands, I can’t help it but Phil told me that I need something to fiddle with, he said he always fiddles with his wedding ring, so for Christmas my mum and dad have bought me one.”
Kem previously bonded with Phil as he revealed ITV bosses forced him to dye his hair after he dared to out himself as grey when he was 19.
During an appearance on Kem Cuts Phil said he was branded a “badger” and told “we didn’t hire a grey guy” after securing his first telly role with the channel.
He said: “Well the thing is 16 and I was getting grey hairs – my mum went grey when she was 16.
“By the time I was nineteen I was colouring it and I went to live in New Zealand and that is when I dyed my hair.

“For the first time at 19 – and it was covered up for absolutely ages – and I’m not sure I’ve said this out loud before so you have a bit of an exclusive here.
“But I just signed a contract for ITV and I decided to let my hair go and my office got a phone call from the Head of ITV saying: ‘Can you please tell him to put it back? We didn’t hire a grey guy.’
“And someone else said ‘he looks like a badger’ so I went back into the grey closet.”
