New photo Murdered teenager Jaden Moodie poses with a gold-coloured handgun — despite claims he had no gang links

TEEN murder victim Jaden Moodie poses with a golden handgun – despite claims he was not linked to gangs.

The 14-year-old schoolboy smiled for the camera as he held the weapon while a friend filmed him.

Jaden, who attended Heathcote School and Science College, was stabbed seven times in the back after being knocked off his moped by four men in a Mercedes and attacked on Tuesday evening in Leyton, East London.

Footage of Jaden holding the firearm – which may be a replica – emerged as pals of Jayden paid tribute to him online and said he had “Gone too soon”.

Despite Jaden – nicknamed JSav – boasting of being a “trapper kid” – slang for a drug dealer – on his own Facebook page, his family have denied he was affiliated to a gang.

But one school pal told The Sun on Sunday that Jaden had confessed to close pals he feared was going to be attacked and that he “knew his time was up”.

The friend added: “He told people that he was worried his life could be taken at any time.

He was definitely attracted to the life of the streets and liked to portray himself in a certain way.

“Posing with the gun was part of that, but no-one knows if it was a real handgun or not.”

Another friend of the wannabe boxer said he was murdered by gang members because he was friends with someone they were in a dispute with, while another suggested he had fallen out with a local Somalian gang.

Jaden was born in East London but he was sent to live with his godmother in Nottingham because of concerns about his behaviour.

But he moved back to the capital recently and was excluded from school for his social media postings.

Jaden’s cousin Leon Green said the teenager had no gang affiliations and had a “huge heart”.

He added: “Jaden was a 14-year-old minor who had his whole life ahead of him, which should never have been viciously taken from him.

“Focus needs to be on the fact that he has been brutally murdered in cold blood and deserves a fair chance at justice as much as anyone else.

“If there are people in our streets that are capable of killing a 14-year-old child, then no-one is safe.”

The car used in the attack – believed to be a Mercedes B Class – was found dumped close to territory controlled by the so-called Oliver Close (OC) gang.

Jaden lived close to an area run by the OC’s rivals, the Beaumont Crew.

Cops investigating the murder said Jaden was attacked “with lethal force” and have appealed for the local community’s help in solving the crime.
