New photo Boy, 10, killed in ‘hit-and-run’ crash in Manchester as man turns himself in to police

A YOUNG boy has died following a hit and run collision in Beswick, police have said.

The 11-year-old was hit by a grey VW Golf on Albert Street shortly after 6pm this evening.

Greater Manchester Police said the car left the scene following the horror collision and was found abandoned nearby.

The boy was treated at the scene by paramedics and was taken to hospital but sadly he died as a result of his injuries.

A grey VW Golf – believed to have been involved in the collision – was found abandoned near to the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said a 31-year-old man later attended a police station and he was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody for questioning.
