A MUM who had sexual relations with her teenage son is spared jail after a judge insisted that she’s “no predator”.

The 50-year-old woman, who cannot be named, claimed her son initiated the sexual activity and she went along with it out of motherly love.

Gloucester Crown Court heard how she dressed in her knickers, bra and boots, while he would wear nothing but a t-shirt.

Judge Ian Lawrie said: “You spanked the naked buttocks of your son with a paddle.

“Squatting down, naked from the waist down, over his face, you allowed him to lick your a**s.

“There is a greater need for you to exercise discipline and restraint. Not to acquiesce.”

The woman’s defence lawyer noted that she is an “easily manipulated woman”, having suffered abuse in her previous relationship.

Simon Burch told the court of the “plaguing persevering messages” she recieved from her son.

He said: “Not once had any of the ideas come from her. Not once did she encourage him.”

But the judge insisted that she had “clearly breached her obligation as a mother”.

She pleaded guilty at Gloucester crown court to three charges of sexual activity with her 15 year old son between 1st September 2017 and 9th January this year.

Judge Ian added: “Your appearance here will be hugely humiliating and embarrassing for you.

“On one level so be it, on another it is a harm that should be acknowledged.”

Alongside the suspended jail term, the judge ordered the woman to sign the sex offender register for ten years.
