MEGHAN Markle risks sparking outrage among Royal fans if she continues trying to modernise the monarchy “too quickly”, according to a royal biographer.
Claudia Joseph, author of Kate: The Making of a Princess, said the Duchess of Sussex’s intentions to bring the family into the 21st century are well placed – but warns she could alienate royalists.
Speaking to the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire, Claudia said the recent media hype around Meghan, 37, was caused by her tendency to push the boundaries.
She said: “I think the reality is people admire Meghan because she’s trying to bring the Royal family into the 21st century.
“But she’s doing it very quickly, so royalists aren’t going to like that, because it’s too much.”
Comparing the two duchesses, she added: “The reality is that Kate is a very different person.
“She’s very quiet, she’s not trying to change the Royal family, she’s not trying to do anything differently.
“She’s like William, he doesn’t like the publicity, she doesn’t like to be in the public eye.
“She has been in the press, there have been lots of stories about her over time.
“Not so quickly perhaps, but she’s not breaking the rules in the same way as Meghan.”
It comes amid rumours of a Royal rift between the Cambridges and Sussexes.
Earlier this month Tom Bower, author of Rebel Prince: the Power, Passion and Defence of Charles, warned no good would come of Meghan “trying to be Princess Diana”.
“I don’t think anyone is out to get her, I think she’s a victim of her own ambition,” he said. “She’s trying to be Diana, trying to adopt the new role.

“The tragedy of the story is it’ll end in the same way unless someone steps in from the Palace and says ‘look this is the way it’s done here’.
“The problem is there’s never been in the Palace someone who can step forward and say ‘look Meghan, this is how you may have done it in Hollywood, but here in London we do it this way’.”
In more royal news, Meghan fans are convinced she’s ‘further along’ than thought after she showed her prominent bump and joked ‘I’m very pregnant’ yesterday.
