THINKING of switching up the star on top of your Christmas tree this year?
McDonald’s has launched a competition with some very quirky festive merchandise as prizes – including chicken nugget decorations.
The fast food chain is giving away baubles in the shape of its much-loved McNuggets, which come complete with glitter detailing and a Santa hat.
If you fancy going all out with the McDonald’s theme, you can also nab nugget fairy lights to drape around your tree.
Each light is emblazoned with the Golden Arches, so there’s no hiding where they’re from – but they’re actually pretty fancy.
The ornaments were designed by Bombki – who also make baubles for Fortnum & Mason – and were created with mouth-blown glass.
Love Island’s Jack Fincham and Chris Hughes and TOWIE’s Joey Essex launched the festive merch in London earlier this week.
The trio – dubbed the “three UN-wise men” – surprised members of the public by giving away free nuggets.
Ben Fox – Marketing Director at McDonald’s – says: “Our new Reindeer Ready campaign aims to remind customers that we are there when they need us at this time of year – from a Christmas shopping coffee break to a pre-party burger or even a mid-present delivery carrot stop.
“From TV to OOH, social to in-store, we will make sure there is a little reindeer magic for everyone this Christmas.”
