CARDIFF CITY fans gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a hot reception as he returned to Wales with Manchester United.

The Norwegian was this week named as interim boss at Old Trafford until the end of the season after Jose Mourinho was sacked.

And coincidently, his first game in charge comes against the only club he has previously managed in England.

But the 45-year-old was not a popular figure as he and his team arrived in the Welsh capital.

A large number of Cardiff supporters were waiting to give Solskjaer a piece of their mind as he made his way off the team coach.

The Bluebirds have still not forgotten the United hero’s disastrous spell at the helm.

The club plummeted from 17th in the Premier League to 17th in the Championship during his eight-month reign.

And they made their feelings known to Solskjaer ahead of this evening’s showdown.

The reaction did not seem to affect the Red Devils chief too much as he strode into the ground with a huge grin on his face.

But Cardiff will be hoping Neil Warnock can help wipe that smile from his face come kick-off.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba has been handed an instant recall by Solskjaer after being dropped recently by Mourinho.

The new interim boss has made four changes to the side that lost 3-1 at Liverpool last Sunday, Jose’s final game in charge.
