It meant Pep Guardiola’s men have bounced back after their defeat at Chelsea last week which blew the title race over.

They overcame a bright start from Everton before Jesus netted his first Prem goals.

His first came after Yerry Mina was guilty of a poor pass as he tried to play his way out of defence, with City seizing their chance to attack.

Leroy Sane slipped the ball through to Jesus, who calmly slotted under Jordan Pickford.

The second goal came just after the break when Sane teed up another chance for the Brazil striker with a cross.

This time he got between Michael Keane and Mina before powerful heading home past Pickford.

Everton got themselves back in the game when Calvert-Lewin nodded in from Lucas Digne’s cross, sparking hopes of a late comeback like their last game against Watford

But Sterling came off the bench and headed in with one of his first touches after a cross from Fernandinho.
