HOLLYOAKS’ Luke Morgan will return to the soap next week for some explosive courtroom scenes.
Actor Gary Lucy, who plays the character, has lifted the lid on the upcoming episode which will feature abuser Buster Smith’s trial.
The long running soap star will be just one the famous faces returning for guest appearances in the emotional scenes, which kick off from January 7.
He will be supporting his son Ollie Morgan, played by Aedan Duckworth, when football coach Buster Smith (Nathan Sussex) goes on trial for grooming and abusing him.
Luke will be taking to the stand on behalf of Ollie, which brings back memories of his own experiences of sexual abuse.
He told Digital Spy: “Obviously, everything hits home but what happened to Ollie is the focus. Obviously, it’s difficult for him to talk and to be in that situation.
The actor continued: “Emotions are running very high, with the guilt he feels and the anger towards Buster, which all kind of explodes.
“You’ve also got Darren and Mandy in there too. He explodes and he nearly messes it up for Ollie.”
Gary has been on a break from Hollyoaks since March due to his commitments with The Full Monty Tour.
He will be on the road performing the saucy stage show based on the 1997 film until May 2019.
Nathan, who plays Buster, previously revealed he read extensive accounts of the victims of disgraced football coach Barry Bennell – who was jailed for 31 years in February after being convicted of abusing 12 boys aged eight to 15 between 1979 and 1991 – for plot inspiration.

He admitted some of the information was “quite horrifying” to read, saying : “The biggest case I researched was Barry Bennell.
“My character is not based on him but I used all the information when all the victims came forward and talked about what they went through.
“I absorbed all that and took it with me to set, because what he did was quite horrifying to those young men.
“I really only used that as inspiration really.”
