PAUL NICHOLLS should be the toast of Boxing Day punters again.
The 10-times champion trainer is going for his tenth King George win and POLITOLOGUE looks to have a great chance of getting him into double figures in Kempton’s annual Christmas cracker.
Bristol De Mai 4/5
Mai could pay. Deadly on his day as he showed when taking apart a quality field to win his second Betfair Chase last month.
Native River, Thistlecrack, Clan Des Obeaux and Might Bite were all left trailing at Haydock and he proved he doesn’t need deep ground.
Well beaten in this 12 months ago but likely to do better today.
Clan Des Obeaux 2/5
Don’t join this Clan. Always promised to develop into a smart chaser but yet to prove he’s quite up to this level.
Behind Might Bite and Bristol De Mai when third at Aintree last season and his fourth in the Betfair Chase shows he has a fair bit to prove to even hit the frame.
BOXING DAY BELTER King George looks a sizzler as Might Bite heads final field of ten
Coneygree 2/5
Con trick. Sensational as a novice when winning the Kauto Star Chase by a country mile on this day three years ago. Went on to win the Gold Cup but it’s not been plain sailing since.
The Bradstocks did a wonderful job to get him to finish third in a Cheltenham handicap after nearly a year off but that’s still well short of what’s required.
Double Shuffle 3/5
Shuffle along. Loves this track. Won a course-and-distance handicap at this meeting two years ago but without a victory since.
Undoubtedly put in a personal best when chasing home Might Bite in last season’s King George and the better ground will help. This year’s race is deeper but he’s a lively outsider.
Might Bite 4/5
Might do it again. Only had a length to spare over Double Shuffle when landing last year’s King George but he had the race wrapped up three from home.
Ran a cracker to chase home Native River in the Gold Cup on unsuitably testing ground and was impressive at Aintree.
His jumping was iffy when stuffed in the Betfair Chase behind Bristol De Mai. A class act at his best but is latest run leaves him a little to prove.
Native River 3/5
No River bank. Tremendous chaser who won an epic Gold Cup battle with Might Bite on testing ground last season having finished third the previous year.
He handles any conditions but the softer going brings his stamina reserves into play.
Made a sound return to action when runner-up in the Betfair Chase but his chance of more big-race glory probably lies at Cheltenham again.
Politologue 5/5
Vote for Pol. Has a superb record away from Cheltenham. Altior and Waiting Patiently are the only two to get the better of him on other tracks and there was plenty to like about the way he brushed off Charbel at Ascot on his comeback run.
Steps up to 3m for the first time but has always looked likely to stay and his slick jumping will help. Has the class to be King.
Tea For Two 1/5
Weak Tea. Only beaten three lengths when third behind Might Bite in this race last year. Shown little since although his return to action at Huntingdon was a small step in the right direction.
This track brings out the best in him but not even that is likely to be enough to reach the places again.

Thistlecrack 3/5
Up for the Crack. Looked destined for the top of the tree when lifting this prize as a novice two years ago. Injury has stalled his progress but his fourth in it last year was a fair effort considering his preparation.
His jumping lacked sharpness when third in the Betfair Chase on his first run since but this course will suit him better.
Waiting Patiently 3/5
Worth the Wait. Unbeaten in six starts over fences and has several bits of really smart form. Got the better of Politologue a couple of years ago and he impressed when beating Cue Card in the Ascot Chase in February.
Not certain to stay today’s longer trip and would prefer softer ground but he doesn’t lack the class. If he lasts the trip he’s a real player.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”
Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
