The Duchess of Cambridge was pelted with snowballs by cheeky courtiers as she and William threw a festive party at Kensington Palace.
The Duke and Duchess were in festive spirits as they threw open palace doors for a party for RAF families and children complete santa costumes and a fake snow machine.
The couple held the Kensington Palace bash for the families of deployed personnel from RAF Coningsby and RAF Marham, ahead of a visit to their loved ones in Cyprus.
Kate, 36, looked elegant in a long Emilia Wickstead red tartan skirt and a black cashmere top by Brora, and looked glowing and relaxed amid rumours of a feud between the Duchess and her sister-in-law Meghan.
The couple took the short walk from their Kensington Palace apartment to the Orangery, laughing as they passed the snow machine.
William is Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, which is home to Typhoon Sqns, who currently deploy to Cyprus in support of Op SHADER.
The Cambridges aren't the only royal couple with a seasonal engagement today. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly set to attend a charity carol service in aid of the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund, with Meghan tipped to give a reading.

Turn to tartan this winter like the Duchess of Cambridge in Emilia Wickstead
The countdown to Christmas is officially on, and today the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted a party at Kensington Palace.
Kate always dresses perfectly for every occasion, and this look is a lesson in what to wear over the next few weeks. We always love it when she debuts a new outfit!
How festive is her red tartan skirt? It's by one of her favourite labels, Emilia Wickstead and it features flattering pleats and an all-over check design. The midi length is perfectly on trend, and when teamed with a cropped cashmere cardigan by Brora and a pair of heeled black knee boots, it's a flawless look.
It's the 'Pris' style from the AW18 collection, but unfortunately has now sold out. So instead, check out (no pun intended, we promise!) the lookalike options in our edit below. Zara and Asos have got some budget-friendly tartan skirts that will do the trick, or this MSGM option is worth the investment.
